Lifestyler says life easier with Kioti PX6030

West Coast lifestyle farmer Barry Pearson says he really looks forward to driving his new Kioti PX 6030 ROPS tractor, which has made his life so much easier. Barry and his wife Phillippa own 13 hectares just out of Hokitika, on which they run about 50 lambs and 30 sheep.
They purchased the PX 6030 tractor in January from Power Farming in Greymouth. It is the first Kioti they have owned.
“I had a look at other models but it came down to dollars and cents because I only had a certain amount to spend,” Barry said.
“I use the tractor for topping the paddocks, levelling and making roads. One of the key things is the bucket, which is as wide as the wheels are. It means I can get a good bucketful and if you go in and pick something up, you know the wheels are going to fit in behind the bucket. Also the four-in-one grabs are brilliant.”
“I don’t do a lot of hours on it but I find it so good because of the gripping tyres and the bucket system that’s on it. It is nice to climb on a tractor that when you turn the key, it goes.”
Barry and Phillippa’s son Bruce often comes to help his parents out in between his duties as a policeman and he also loves operating the Kioti.
“You can’t beat having something new. It makes you want to sit on it and do something with it all the time,” says Barry.
“I am 72 and what I like about it is that I just can’t do things that once upon a time I could do. I don’t have to pick things up anymore, the tractor does it. I’m very happy with it.”
“Some people love sports cars, I have got one tractor and I really enjoy using it. It is not computerised, which is great because I’m over computers. I know with the Kioti PX 6030 I am not going to get a computer glitch that’s going to send me around the twist.”
“It doesn’t get stuck in soft ground because it has four-wheel drive. I have another tractor that is two-wheel drive and it gets stuck all the time. The Kioti is really unique and I love it.”
